How to disable two-factor authentication
Turn 2FA off from your profile — and why you probably should not.
You can switch two-factor authentication off from your profile. You will be asked to confirm, because it materially weakens your account.
With 2FA off, anyone who obtains your password can sign in and move your funds. If your reason for turning
it off is a new phone, do not — set 2FA up on the new phone instead. See
changing or losing your authenticator device.
Moving to a new phone
- While you still have the old phone, sign in and disable 2FA.
- Immediately re-enable it and scan the new QR code with the new phone.
- Save the new recovery codes. The old ones no longer work.
