Using deposit QR codes
Scan rather than type, to eliminate copy-paste errors.
Every deposit address comes with a QR code. Scanning it from your other wallet avoids the two ways people corrupt an address by hand: a bad copy-paste, and clipboard malware that silently swaps the address.
- Generate the deposit address on Cryolynx for the correct coin and network.
- In the sending wallet, choose to scan a QR code.
- Point it at the code on screen.
- Check the address that appears in the sending wallet matches the first and last characters shown on Cryolynx.
A QR code carries only the address. If the deposit needs a
memo or tag, you still have to enter that
separately.
Always verify the pasted or scanned address on the sending side. Malware that rewrites crypto addresses in
the clipboard is common, and the substituted address looks just as legitimate.
