Convert or Exchange — which to use
Two routes to the same trade, with different trade-offs.
Use Convert when
- You just want coin A turned into coin B
- You want certainty about exactly what you will receive
- You do not want to learn order books and order types
- The amount is modest, so the spread built into the rate is not material
Use the Exchange when
- You want to set your own price and wait for it
- The amount is large enough that the cost difference matters
- You want a stop order to protect a position
- You want to see depth and recent trades before committing
The cost difference
The Exchange charges a visible 0.1%. Convert charges nothing separately but builds its cost into the quoted rate, which is generally the more expensive of the two — you are paying for simplicity and a guaranteed amount.
Both draw on the same spot balance, and both settle into the same wallet. There is nothing to move between
them.
